Jamaica’s 2018/19 Away Kit Might Genuinely be the Best Kit We’ve Seen.
Here at UK Soccer Shop, we love eye-catching kits. Those that push the envelope and find themselves in our imaginary hall of fame. Right now, off the top of our heads, we know that Nigeria’s 2018/19 home kit as well as Senegal’s each deserve recognition. Jamaica’s away kit is certainly worthy of a place in the hall of fame too. Earlier on today, we showed you their home kit. It was an excellent blend of bright yellow and green, as well as a black contrast across the shoulders. It was an excellent kit but we think their away one tops it.
Lets take a look.
The top half of the kit is black, a charcoal colouring that acts as the perfect blank canvas for Jamaica’s crest and Umbro’s logo. The black then fades down into an eye-catching pattern of yellow, green, and black diamonds. In amongst the diamonds are also yellow and black rectangles which have the appearance of a ripping effect. Furthermore, the colouring matches the tapering seen around the simple neckline and at the bottom of each sleeve. This tapering completes the kit nicely.
On the nape of the jersey are the words, “Reggae Boyz.” Known around the world as the home of Reggae, we love that the kit recognises this.
As seen with the home kit, the promotional photographs are a blend of competitive players stood inside Independent Park (the club’s home ground), and more pedestrian photographs of real people wearing the kit. These photos suggest genuine community in the country and it might be this spirit that will push Jamaica up the FIFA World Rankings and out of their current 54th position.
