Rotherham United have completed the release of their 2016/17 kit range. It’s been a busy week for the club with new boss, the former Bolton Wanderers and Liverpool defender, Alan Stubbs, joining from Scottish side, Hibernian.
Rotherham United 2016/17 Third Kit
This is the third kit which Rotherham United will wear during the 2016/17 season.
Puma presents a straightforward kit for the Millers to use when needed. All-yellow with black trim, it’s a pleasantly unfussy design which harks back to kits worn by footballers in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
The winged collar leading into similar coloured stripes along the shoulder and outside of the sleeve were a trademark look for Puma three decades ago. This time, the black collar drops into a curved v-shape with the stripes hosting a yellow Puma logo on the shoulder.
Under each arm, there is a modern twist with black mesh panels improving the shirt’s breathability. These travel the length of the sleeve down the side of the body until the stopping halfway down the stomach.
Across the midriff is the shirt sponsor, Apogee, logo whilst Puma’s mark is on the right breast opposite the Rotherham United club badge.
The shorts, also in canary yellow, have a black stripe on the outside of each leg. Completing the kit are yellow socks with a solid black turnover. Puma’s logo, also in black, sits high up the sock, above the shin area.
There’s a pleasing simplicity about the kit that gives it a classic retro look. The Millers have a striking range with their traditional red and white home kit and sky blue change for their travels.
