With the new home kit set to be launched on 9th May, have the first pictures of Liverpool’s new away kit have arrived? If it is, in a recent Daily Mirror poll, it proved to be a resounding success!
The Liver Bird
stands proud in luminous yellow – New Balance call it neon – on the dark green shirt, with the crew neck echoing past glories. The manufacturer’s and sponsor’s logos complete a striking centrepiece for the shirt.
Although pictures of the shirts and socks have yet to be seen, they are widely expected to be the same colour with neon trim providing a vivid contrast.
Green has become a traditional colour in recent years for Liverpool’s third kit but it’s the first time since 1999/2000 that it will be used in the second kit. That season, they finished fourth and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that it is a lucky omen to take them back into the Champions League places in 2016/17.
With two strong kits for next season, New Balance will be looking for the trophies that will cement their designs as classics in Liverpool’s history.
