Galactico Class – Real Madrid 2017-18 Home Kit Lands

Think of Real Madrid and a glorious history comes to life. The top dog in European club football, Los Merengues are peerless when it comes to the Champions League. They lifted the trophy for the twelfth time in Cardiff following the 4 – 1 defeat of Juventus.

Now they turn their attention to next season. The transfer window doesn’t officially open until 1st July so there’s plenty of time to occupy between now and then.

Real, like all of Europe’s major clubs, suffered a leaky defence when it came to next seasons kits. New dad, Cristiano Ronaldo, will need a stronger defence as he takes on the Spanish tax authorities.

Real Madrid 2017-18 Home Kit

This is the 2017-18 Real Madrid home shirt:

Much trailed before today’s official release, the shirt is the club’s traditional white. It’s hard to imagine Real ever issuing a home kit that isn’t all-white. The impact of not wearing the famous strip doesn’t bear thinking about. The club would suffer a calamitous fate, akin to the ravens leaving the Tower of London. Just as the British monarchy would fall, the same fate would strike Spanish football’s royalty.

It’s a deceptive shirt. Purple piping on the sleeve seams, along with Adidas’ Three Stripes across the shoulders, appear to be the only trim. Closer inspection reveals that tonal diagonal stripes run from left to right across the shirt front.

Completing the kit, white shorts and socks feature purple manufacturers logos and motifs, as well as the club badge.

It is an understated kit but with a crisp finish and modern twists.

Keylor Navas’ home shirt is green, as previously seen. It features the same simple overall look with just white trim and logos.
