If you think of the Eredivisie and the teams that dominate the Netherlands’ league, your mind will surely wander straight to either Ajax or PSV Eindhoven. These two teams battled fought in the 2017/18 campaign for first and second place. By the end of the season, all that separated them was four points. The victor was PSV.
This upcoming season, PSV are aiming to retain that title and so have been incredibly active in the transfer window. They’ve been loaning players out left, right, and centre to save their pennies for a quality player who can bolster the squad. Mark Van Bommel will seriously hope that his transfer window business will be enough to see the club compete once again next season.
Over the past two months we’ve shown you both Eindhoven’s home and away kits. Both were designed by Umbro and featured a careful, considered design that we loved. It’s time to explore their third kit, which has been carefully created with aesthetics in mind.
The jersey is dark blue across the body with lighter blue down across the sleeves. Because of this darker colouring, the club’s crest, Umbro’s logo, and PSV’s main sponsor: energiedirect.nl all stand out positively. This ensures an uncluttered appearance and enhances the simplicity that makes it so effective.
The neckline is simple and without a collar. Instead, around the front is a red and white stripe that matches Umbro’s trademark tapering around the bottom of the sleeves.
Red and white is used around the neckline and along the bottom of the sleeves to match the colouring of the crest.
Next season, we at UK Soccer Shop can’t wait to see how PSV Eindhoven’s third kit performs. Breathable technology has been utilised to ensure even in the most pressurised of title-chasing situations.
This kit is simple, dynamic, and sleek. What do you think? Too simple?
