Mamelodi Sundowns Reveal Their 2018/19 Sky-blue Third Kit

Mamelodi Sundowns’ Sky-blue Third Kit Goes Down Positively with Their Fans. What do You Think?

The team plays in South Africa. They compete among names such as Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. Right now, as of writing this piece, Mamelodi Sundowns are in seventh place. While you might think this isn’t a great place to be sat in, they’ve only played five games, whereas most other teams have played at least seven games. Furthermore, Kaizer Chiefs have played a whole nine games. The season is wide open and to help push them up the table, the club has teamed up with Puma to create an excellent set of football kits.

The home kit is bright yellow with green bordering running around a simple neckline. The away one is white with yellow and green sleeves.

Let’s now take a look at the third kit. Its main colouring is sky-blue. It acts as the perfect blank canvas for the club’s crest, their main sponsor and Puma’s logo.

In the kit’s press release, Marketing Director of Puma Brett Bellinger said:

‘The Bulls released an Away kit in the Brazilian colours of Mamelodi Sundowns in January 2018, in homage to the continuing success of the PSL champions. Today Mamelodi Sundowns have reciprocated by releasing a kit in the colours of their rugby playing brothers.’

Running up the centre of the jersey is a pattern of ‘M’s. It gives a positive shape to the third kit and, together with the simple white collar adds to the complete nature of Mamelodi Sundown’s third kit.

In their own press release, Thulani Thuswa, as spokesperson for Mamelodi Sundowns said, ‘There is a saying: “Tshwane ra tshwana”, in Pretoria we are the same. This new third kit symbolizes the City of Champions and what greater way to pay tribute to our fellow city giants than by donning their famous blue.’
