You’ve Seen Their Home Kit. Now See Hungary’s Away One.
The above heading suggests that you’ve seen the country’s home kit. You might not have done. If you haven’t here’s a link. Alternatively, below is the first paragraph, still relevant to this away jersey:
“Qualification for the 2018 World Cup began two years before. In 2016, Hungary sat in a group with Portugal, Switzerland, The Faroe Islands, Latvia, and Andorra. Despite battling hard, the country finished in third place. They, like Wales and Scotland, would not compete in Russia. They finished with 13 points and Switzerland had 27. It was a cracking tournament, full of excitement and drama, but Hungary fans will have had to settle for watching other people’s teams. Furthermore, they’ll have to wait another two years before their next international tournament. Still, it’s best to focus on the positives. Those positives include the fact that the international side has teamed up with Adidas, one of the best designing companies, to create a home and away kit that are each incredibly eye-catching while remaining completely simple.”
The home kit was a gorgeous deep-red with white bordering around the neckline and bottom of each sleeve. It was the perfect colour-contrast and we at UK Soccer Shop can safely say that we loved it. For the away kit, Adidas have perhaps thought, ‘why change a winning recipe?’ The away kit appears almost identical, just inverted. However that’s not quite the case.
The body of the away jersey is white. It features the checkerboard pattern created with the varying lines. Red stripes do run across the shoulders, giving it positive shape, however to tie in with Hungary’s crest, the bottom of each sleeve is bordered with a dark green material. While the home kit was more subdued, the away kit ties in more positively with the country’s flag.
