Hungary Reveals Their 2018/19 Home Kit by Adidas

They Might Not Have Made it to The World Cup in Russia, but Here’s Hungary’s Latest Home Kit.

Qualification for the 2018 World Cup began two years before. In 2016, Hungary sat in a group with Portugal, Switzerland, The Faroe Islands, Latvia, and Andorra. Despite battling hard, the country finished in third place. They, like Wales and Scotland, would not compete in Russia. They finished with 13 points and Switzerland had 27. It was a cracking tournament, full of excitement and drama, but Hungary fans will have had to settle for watching other people’s teams. Furthermore, they’ll have to wait another two years before their next international tournament. Still, it’s best to focus on the positives. Those positives include the fact that the international side has teamed up with Adidas, one of the best designing companies, to create a home kit that is incredibly eye-catching while remaining completely simple.

The kit is a deep red. It features Adidas’ 2018/19 trademark pattern of a checkerboard-effect, created by lines which each vary in thickness. This pattern acts as the perfect blank canvas for the country’s crests (both the country’s and the football team’s), and Adidas’ logo.

Running across the top of the shoulders we see Adidas’ iconic three stripes. We’ve seen these stripes on almost every kit that they’ve created this season. It’s a great design feature which helps give character and shape to this exceptional kit. The neckline is simple and is bordered with the same white material as the stripes across the shoulders.

On the nape of the jersey is the word ‘Hungary,’ in Hungarian. It’s always positive when a kit designer utilises the nape. Finally, a black and white bordering can be found running around the bottom of each sleeve. This bordering effect, together with the three stripes across the shoulders creates a more complete and rounded kit.
