Al Ahli Reveal Their 2018/19 Turquoise Away Kit from Umbro
An Excellent Away Kit by Umbro and Al Ahli.
Here at UK Soccer Shop we love football kits from around the world, whether that’s the Central Coast Mariners in Australia or FC Goa on the West Indian coastline. Last week, in amongst the Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain kit reveals we brought you some Saudi Arabian flair. It was the home kit of Al Ahli that we first looked at. It bore a simple pattern running across the front on a pale background. We often think it’s best to keep kits simple and that’s exactly what they did.
Now is the time for the club’s away kit, and they certainly thought out of the box with this one.
The kit’s colouring is turquoise. It features a number of diagonal lines that meet in the centre of the jersey’s chest. Together, the colour and pattern act as the perfect blank canvas for the club’s crest, Umbro’s logo, and Al Ahli’s main sponsor, which are each displayed across the centre.
The simple ‘V’ cut neckline is bordered with two thin black lines. These lines give the kit its necessary shape. Furthermore, Umbro’s trademark sleeve pattern ensures that the kit appears fully complete. This sleeve pattern is something that we’ve seen with so many 2018/19 kits. Most recently, and perhaps notably has been on FC Porto’s home and away kits. It is certainly one of our favourite trademark design features and one that we hope to see more of in the future.
Four games have been played so far in the Saudi Pro League. It’s a competitive competition and one that Al Ahli will hope to win. The club finished in second place last year so Pablo Guede will hope to build on that excellent result this season.
