Barcelona Has Revealed Their 2018/19 Third Kit from Nike
Barcelona’s Third Kit Has Proven Popular With The Fans.
Think of the biggest and best football club in the world. You might be thinking about a team in the top tier of English football, perhaps German or even French. Alternatively, you might have in your mind Barcelona. A Spanish side who has dominated La Liga for a number of years. This particular author had the pleasure of visiting Camp Nou and it was spectacular. Furthermore, the press section in the stadium was awe-inspiring, if a little bit sickening – due to the height.
Five games have passed and Barcelona are sitting relatively pretty at the top. They are rivalled at the top by Real Madrid, proving that they can still be one of the top dogs, even without Christiano Ronaldo. To help secure another successful title race, the club has teamed up Nike to craft their 2018/19 kits. After all, it makes sense for one of the biggest sporting designers to team up with one of the best teams in the game. Here’s Barcelona’s latest third kit. Tell us what you think.
The jersey itself is pale pink. Running diagonally across the front is a thick, fading, dark pink line. On either side of this line is a pattern that reflects the club’s connection to the city. There is a district in Barcelona called Eixample. From the sky, this district is stunning. The precision of the streets and the similarity in architecture and area planning means that it’s iconic. Furthermore, its symmetry mean that the district acts as the perfect pattern for Nike to play with.
Barcelona’s club crest and Nike’s trademark Swoosh each appear in silver, bordered with a darker pink. Featuring half way down the diagonal sash is the club’s main sponsor: Rakuten. Finally it is worth mentioning Unicef’s logo on the reverse and the Catalonian stripes on the nape of the simple neckline.
