Barcelona Reveal Their 2018/19 Lime Green Away Kit
Lime Green is the Colour to be Seen When Barcelona Play Away.
If you were to walk into our office and ask us what the biggest football team in the world was, we would ask you, “how did you get in here?” Then, we would have to think about the answer for a long time. One of the contenders for the title of biggest club in the world is Barcelona. Lionel Messi had a shocking world cup but he and Suarez link up perfectly, as well as names like Coutinho, and Pique, to dominate La Liga. This season, with the departure of Christiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid, Barcelona fans would be forgiven for thinking they’d have little competition. However, with three games having been played, both teams have picked up nine points and the competition is wide open.
It may surprise you that we’ve not looked at Barcelona’s secondary kit. We’ve seen all three kits from Newport County, as well as Nottingham Forest, but we’ve only seen the home kit of the Barcelona titans. We’d like to change that.
The away kit is bright yellow or lime green, depending on your grade of colour blindness. Furthermore, this surprisingly acts as the perfect blank canvas for the club’s badge, Nike’s iconic tick, and the club’s main sponsor: Rakuten.
Around the simple neckline we see a built-in blue collar-shape. The colouring is taken from the club’s crest and adds character to this very loud kit. On the nape of the jersey are yellow and red stripes, reflecting Barcelona’s Catalonian heritage.
Running horizontally across the sleeves, to finish the kit, we see two stripes – red and blue. Also across the shoulders and back is Nike’s 2018/19 iconic physical pattern. This gives depth to the jersey and is something we’ve seen with many other Nike-designed kits.
