Here at UK Soccer Shop we love a third kit. When done right, a third kit can really be a great addition to a team’s kit selection. We saw this with Parma Calcio 1913. For Parma, Errea combined the club’s home and away kits to create something really special. Sometimes, however, a third kit doesn’t need to correlate or even bear any similarities to a home or away kit. It is Everton’s third kit that is a great example of this. When we see a white kit we always hold our breath. Sometimes it will be too empty, sometimes, too cluttered. Everton’s kit is very much the mummy-bear of kit design. Just right.
Everton are currently sat in 7th place. Perhaps an expected position for the club – sitting just outside the top six. However those ahead of them – Watford and Bournemouth won’t have been so predictable. Marco Silva will hope that his side can finish within the top six positions.
The front of the aforementioned white kit top has a blue pattern. The pattern contains different shades of the colouring and creates an effective, eye-catching design. Sitting ontop of this pattern is the club’s crest, Umbro’s logo, and Everton’s main sponsor. Surprisingly this pattern acts as a positive blank canvas.
Everton’s third kit is expected to be worn against Bournemouth tomorrow afternoon.
The neckline is simple, bordered with a charcoal colouring and the sleeves are tapered with Umbro’s trademark design. This tapering can also be seen on both the club’s home and away kits.
Th promotional phrase for the third kit is, “grand old team, brand new season.” However, it is Brighton & Hove Albion that has the oldest average age in the Premier League – 28.8 years.
We at UK Soccer Shop think this is a really effective third kit. Furthermore, our opinion is that all three of Everton’s kits are excellent.
