Here at UK Soccer Shop we love to bring you the very best of kits. We’ll go to the highest heights of the Premier League and then we’ll dip right down into League Two. Kit design is a strange world where a team that would be easily beaten on the pitch reveals a kit that is world class. During the build up to the 2018 World Cup when we were getting excited about Nigeria’s jersey, Barcelona revealed their 2018/19 home kit. We missed it because we were too busy raving about the lion’s face on Senegal’s glorious kit.
Better late than never, we want to bring you Barcelona’s simple, effective kit that has been designed by Nike with a considered approach.
The Club won La Liga last season. They smashed away the competition and finished up with 93 points from 38 games. Not a bad win per centage at all. The two Madrid teams came a close (to each other) second and third place but with the departure of Ronaldo, can Real Madrid realistically compete with the title holders this season?
Barcelona fans around the world surely breathed a sigh of relief at the signing of Real’s famous number 7. As an Ipswich Town fan, this author thought he was sure to at least complete a medial at Portman Road. No dice.
The kit features the club’s famous blue and dulled-red stripes. The stripes are thinner and more numerous this year than many previous kits. The club’s crest, Nike’s logo, and the club’s main sponsor sits nicely ontop. On the nape is a series of yellow and red stripes reflecting the club’s status as a Catalonian city.
The kit’s neckline is simple, and the sleeves are tapered with blue.
It has been mainly positively received by fans and we at UK Soccer Shop love it. What do you think?
