West Bromwich Albion Reveal Their 2018/19 Away Kit by Puma
West Bromwich Albion are in the Championship. They finished their 2018/19 Premier League season in 20th place and were relegated together with Swansea and Stoke. We’re now one game into the Championship and Darren Moore’s side didn’t pick up any points from their match against Bolton Wanderers.
Fans of the “Baggies” will hope to see their club bounce straight back into the Premier League and to help them on the long journey ahead, West Bromwich Albion have teamed up with Puma to create a kit that reflect’s the club’s past, is sleek and stylish, however it is green and yellow.
As an Ipswich Town supporting football fan, this author shies away from the colour combination of green and yellow. Ordinarily a kit with this colouring would be bought for the author on his birthday for a joke. Granted, he did really like the 2018/19 Norwich home kit, but on principle, it wouldn’t be his preferred colour combination.
The kit’s design is based on the 1970s appearance of this colouring and design. At this time, West Brom were fighting hard to get back up to the top division. A situation they’re now in.
The pattern that features across the whole kit is yellow and green, vertical thick stripes. The kit features green tapering on the bottom of the sleeves and a classic, polo-necked collar. The polo-necked collar is what stands out as a reflection of West Brom’s heritage.
On the front of the jersey are the club’s initials: WBA, as well as Puma’s logo and a rather dominating sponsor – Ideal Boilers.
The kit top has been positively received so far and fans will be even more grateful if the 2018/19 season ends in promotion. This kit might be one that’s reflected again and again as a lucky one. We will have to wait and see.
