AFC Bournemouth Reveal Their 2018/19 Third Kit by Umbro

If you live in Bournemouth, you’ll be asked by everyone you know (that’s vaguely into football), “have you been to see the Cherries play?” If you didn’t know that the local football team have this nickname, you might be more than a little confused. Walk through the town centre on a Saturday, or any other day and you’ll see how passionate the residents are about the team. Afterall, the town are playing Premier League football and seem to be holding their own.

The club survived their 2017/18 season. Despite an unsteady mid-season, they’ll be playing their 2018/19 campaign in the EPL.

Eddie Howe, Bournemouth manager and ex-player, will hope that his team can not only survive next season, but also compete. The top six might be a little bit of a stretch but finishing within the top ten is surely do-able. Afterall, AFC Bournemouth finished in 12th place last season, on the same points as 10th place Newcastle.

The club have teamed up with Umbro to create a bright, bold, eye-catching third kit. The colouring is a bright turquoise and features several darker lines across the top of the jersey. This pattern gives the kit depth and character. We do quite like this pattern, however the club’s crest is displayed in black and grey, an interesting choice by Umbro.

The sleeves are tapered with Umbro’s trademark design – an inter-linked series of Umbro logos. We’ve seen this on several kits in the past. Furthermore, does it work here?

The neckline is simple. There is no built-up collar and on the nape, the letters “AFCB” can be found.

We at UK Soccer Shop really do like this kit (we like a lot of kits) and can’t wait to see how AFC Bournemouth perform next season. What do you think of their latest third kit?
