Bournemouth Town Release Their 2018/19 Home Kit by Umbro

Bournemouth Town. It’s located just West of Southampton and despite its sprawling, hustle-bustle nature, because it doesn’t have a cathedral it isn’t a city. The town holds an amazing air show every August which is seriously a spectacle to behold. But there’s something else that makes the town special. That’s the football team.

Bournemouth Town Football Club currently play in the Premier League. Despite a tricky time during the middle of the season, Bournemouth have survived the drop and will compete in the highest tier of English football next season. They finished well above their rivals Southampton, who narrowly avoided relegation and Bournemouth’s sights are now firmly set on the transfer window as well as next season.

To power them into the 2018/19 campaign, Bournemouth Town have teamed up with Umbro to create a familiar-looking home kit with the designer’s trademark flourishes to complete the excellent jersey.

To the casual observer, the kit top looks no different from last season’s. On the whole. Not too much has changed. The kit still features the red and black vertical stripes that cover the front of the jersey and the gold colouring still makes a flourish. Albeit a slightly muted appearance. But there are a number of things that you might not recognise from last season’s kit.

Firstly, there are four stripes on the front, rather than three. This is simply down to the spacing. Secondly, the sleeves are fully black. Before, they were half red and half black. Not anymore.

Thirdly, we see the appearance of Umbro’s trademark tapering. We’ve seen it with so many kits this season, including Derby County and Everton. The tapering is more dynamic and only features on the front half of the sleeve.

The neckline is simple and pointed. It has a gold line running around it. Due to its shapely character, it only adds to the kit top’s definition.

We can’t wait to see Bournemouth Town compete with some of the titans in the EPL. This kit doesn’t rock the boat too much. Fans can concentrate on the transfer news coming in and the potential results next season.
