Liverpool FC Reveal Their 2018/19 Third Kit by New Balance

Liverpool. Home of the Beatles and some of the best football in the English Premier League. Jurgen Klopp is the head of this mighty army and their plan for next season is domination. Or at least, compete with a few of the top six. Here at UK Soccer Shop we showed you their home, away, and training kits for 2018/19. Now, bask in the beauty of their third kit. It’s not often that a third kit blows our mind. We saw Newport County’s fan-chosen third kit a couple of days ago but it just didn’t have that special something. (Disclaimer: we aren’t sure what that “special something” is). This Liverpool third kit seems to burst with design decisions, whilst retaining the completeness that can sometimes betray a nice kit.

What do you think? Is it a little too boring or just right?

The body of the jersey is white. While that sentence has been said so many times over the past few months, about so many other kits, this white is patterned. That’s right. Metallic shapes contribute to a semi-checker board appearance that we love. This pattern stops at the arms which are coloured (if that’s the right word) grey.

The bottoms of the sleeves aren’t tapered in a different colour, for example, red and we think this is the correct decision. It would have looked a little strange.

The neckline is simple – no modern ‘V’ necks or classic collars, instead, New Balance choose a rounded neckline with a diagonal red line either side. This works beautifully and ensures an uncomplicated kit.

The nape of the kit, like on the away and home, features a tribute to the Hillsborough fallen. The number 96 sits between two eternal flames.

Antonio Conte has now departed from Chelsea. He didn’t even do that badly but at the top of the EPL, Liverpool know that it’s a take no prisoners environment. Will this kit survive the fans’ scrutiny?
