You Need to See Doncaster Rovers’ Controversial 2018/19 Home Kit

Perhaps a world away from Liverpool’s home kit reveal, here’s a club looking to make a splash with their controversial new kit.

Sitting safely above the relegation zone in League One is Doncaster Rovers, a team managed by Alex Ferguson’s son Darren. The team have had a relatively steady season, losing perhaps predictably to clubs like Wigan and Blackburn (two teams fighting for promotion) but winning against MK Dons and Northampton, two who  are currently sitting in relegation spots. Like all teams in the football league, Doncaster are looking ahead at next season and hoping to push for promotion successfully. With the launch of their new home kit, designers FBT have faced controversy about the overall style and appearance. What do you think?

Firstly, while the white an red colouring has been achieved, the stripes are wavy. Yes, those horizontal stripes dip gradually across the chest then rise again. In all seriousness though, the medium-sized red stripes on a white background leave a space on the chest for sponsors Virgin Trains. Could it be that Branson’s company had a little more influence on the kit than other sponsors? In our opinion the kit does seem a little like the players are leaning, just slightly to the right.

Despite the bold jersey the shorts are just plain white with the club’s logo. Luckily fans can’t have too much to say about the shorts but fans took to Twitter to voice their opinions on the new kit:

Whatever your thoughts on the new kit are the Rovers will be hoping to ignore any criticism and push for promotion.
