West Bromwich Albion‘s 2017-18 home kit received a low-key release compared to last season. Then, using a flash mob, they revealed the shirt at Birmingham New Street railway station. This time, it was more understated; a photo shoot and press release.
Baggies fans are looking forward to the new season following last year’s comfortable 10th place finish. After a spell of yo-yoing between the top two divisions, mid-table obscurity is a welcome relief. The question is whether Albion can use this time to push into the top half of the table?
Only a point and one goal separated them from eighth placed Southampton but the gap to Everton, a position higher in seventh, was fifteen points. That’s not a gap which is usually closed in a season with the resources available to Tony Pulis.
West Bromwich Albion 2016-17 Home Kit
This is the WBA 2016-17 home kit:
The Baggies traditional blue and white stripes feature on the front of the shirt. First worn in 1885, they have been ever-present since, bar 1942 – 47. Evenly spaced, the stripes then give way to a solid blue back and sleeves, reminiscent of the Albion kit worn in the early 21st century.
A rounded v-neck white collar is accompanied by white piping around the sleeve seams. Adidas’ Three Stripes are in white down the side of the shirt.
The kit is completed by white shorts and socks, both with blue trim.
