Tottenham Hotspur finished the 2015/16 Premier Leagues season in a downward spiral. But they’ve picked themselves up and dusted themselves down, returning with a new home kit for 2016/17.
Photos of the design were previously leaked onto the web to a mixed reaction from supporters but club and kit manufacturer, Under Armour, are confident that this will be a ‘grower’.
Tottenham Hotspur 2016/17 Home Kit
This is the home kit Tottenham Hotspur will wear during 2016/17, their final at White Hart Lane before it undergoes redevelopment.
The front of the shirt is predominantly white with a navy blue panel either side of the collar.
It’s a curious pattern. The collar, with its’ gold trim and navy blue inner, is heading into a v-shape but is curtailed at the bottom. The blue panel runs either side and over the shoulder in a bow shape.
The sleeves feature blue and gold hoops on the cuff. Under Armour’s logo and the club crest sit in blue on the chest, above the insignia of primary shirt sponsor, AIA.
Navy blue shorts accompany the shirt, with a white and gold stripe travelling from the top of the thigh to the bottom of the leg. The Tottenham crest and Under Armour logo sit on either leg in white.
Grip of the White Hart Lane turf is going to be hellish if the navy blue socks come with those stilettos! We can’t guarantee they will, of course, but we can say with some certainty that there is a white Under Armour logo on the front of the shin whilst “SPURS” is printed on the calf.
Tottenham Hotspur 2016/17 Home Goalkeeper Shirt
The Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper will wear this kit during home matches.
It’s a vivid light blue kit with dark navy trim on the sleeves, in the form of a diagonal hoop above and below the elbow. The logos of club, manufacturer and sponsor are all in dark navy, with the socks featuring a navy hoop.
It’s an intriguing design from Tottenham Hotspur for next season; whether it’s the ‘grower’ they think is another matter!
