Sporting Lisbon Drop Special Cup Winners’ Cup Anniversary Shirt
Sporting Lisbon have dropped a special anniversary jersey. The club’s newest release celebrates the 60th anniversary of Sporting’s UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup triumph in 1964. Sporting won the final against MTK Budapest 1-0 in a replay match after the first final fixture ended 3-3.
The jersey itself is manufactured by Nike and is primarily white with green accents near the collar and on the sleeves. A sentimental touch has been added as Nike have included the old Sporting Lisbon badge on the jersey.
Two small detailed tributes to the historic victory are also included on the bottom right of the shirt as well as on the back of the neck. The stunning jersey was debuted by Sporting during their Liga Portugal match up against Vitoria SC, which they won 3-0.
Sporting Lisbon currently find themselves top of Liga Portugal ahead of Benfica and Porto. Ruben Amorim and his side will be hopeful that they can win a 20th league title for the club.
