Real Madrid Parley Kit Debuts

After Bayern Munich wore their Parley kit against Hoffenheim, it was the turn of Real Madrid to wear their eco-friendly design against Sporting Gijon.

It’s a superb marketing ploy. It taps into the willingness of football supporters to buy kits of any colour or design. Adidas and Real also get to push the green credentials desired by any major global company.

This Real design taps into history, reminiscent of the the shirts worn by the likes of Puskas and Di Stefano when the Spanish club ruled Europe for half-a-decade or more.

Real Madrid Adidas Parley Kit

This is the Real Madrid Parley kit:

The base material of Real Madrid‘s Parley Kit is made of recycled plastic recovered off the coast of the Maldives.

adidas invested heavily into this process, turning the plastic into a technical fibre yarn. This becomes the base material for the new kits. Real, top of La Liga, follow Bayern’s lead and wear a mono-colour kit. All white, the logo, Three Stripes and primary sponsor’s logo are subdued in the design.

The one-off kit design features mesh inserts for improved ventilation and the message “for the oceans” on the back neckline.

Surprisingly, Adidas omitted Manchester United from this round of promotions; maybe next year…
