Reading have launched their 2016/17 home and away kits. Quite literally with the club opted for a space theme to promote the new designs.
The club is aiming for the stars next season as they push for promotion back to the Premier League. They will need a rocket on the pitch to improve on last season’s 17th place. New manager Jaap Stam, the former Manchester United defender, has already opened his contacts book and the name of Rafael van der Vaart is being heavily linked with a move to the Thames Valley.
READING 2016/17 HOME KIT
This is the Reading home kit for the new season.
The shirt front and back contain the familiar blue and white hoops. A mainstay of the home shirts since 1938, this year sees a faded design on the back where the player identification will sit.
The sleeves are white with blue piping across the shoulders creating a faux white panel which houses the Puma logos.
Next season’s shorts are blue and the kit is completed with white socks.
READING 2016/17 AWAY KIT
Away from the Madejski Stadium, Reading will wear this kit:
You may need sunglasses to dim the glare of the neon yellow base colour. The front of the shirt features a series of horizontal bands made up of angular black stripes which increase their thickness on the lower part of the shirt.
The collar is a retro v-neck with wings whilst there is a thick black panel running along the shoulders.
With black shorts and socks dulling the effect of the yellow in the remainder of the kit, it’s certainly one to get them noticed…
