Talk of Barcelona in a sporting context and the conversation inevitably turns to football. But the blaugrana host a diverse range of sports under their umbrella, one of which is basketball. Little wonder that Nike turned to the club for inspiration when they revealed the Kobe 11 Mambacurial range.
The Kobe range was one of Nike’s most popular colourways, with the Kobe 11 Mambacurial, inspired by the Mercurial boots pink and lime green colours.
Nike Kobe 11 Mambacurial Basketball Shoes
This is the Nike Kobe 11 Mambacurial basketball shoe:
The upper on the Mambacurial is a mesh material, eschewing the increasingly popular flyknit material of the blaugrana edition (see below). Coloured Pink Flash at the front, the pattern merges into Red Play. The Kobe logo and Swoosh are Action Green.
The boot’s outsole is semi-transparent Action Green, merging with the Pink Flash and Red Plum upper. Nike’s branding on the inner side of the upper is in white.
Nike Kobe 11 Mambacurial Basketball Shoes- Blaugrana Edition
These are the Nike Kobe 11 Mambacurial Blaugrana basketball shoes.
The shoe is inspired by FC Barcelona’s blaugrana colours. Featuring a flyknit weave upper, the Royal Blue heel merges with a Crimson and Red Plum instep.
Nike’s Swoosh is in yellow whilst the sole is a standard colouring. A unique Kobe logo sits on the heel.
