Manchester City have released their 2016/17 away kit.
City were due to play neighbours Manchester United this week in Beijing but flooding has meant the match has been postponed. With just a match against Dortmund remaining in the Chinese leg of their pre-season, Pep Guardiola could have done without the interruption to his preparations.
It may be the new season before City fans see this kit. They are expected to wear their home strip against Dortmund this week and next week’s friendly versus Arsenal.
MANCHESTER CITY 2016/17 AWAY KIT
This is the Manchester City away kit for the 2016/17 season.
The shirt body is black but the sleeves are red, with a red stripe down the side of the shirt body.
The collar is split with the front of the collar matching the black shirt body. The back and sides from the collarbone region are the same red, merging with the panel across the shoulders.
The reverse of the collar is the herringbone stripe effect as the sleeves and shoulder panel, with the word “City” embossed in the middle.
The manufacturer and sponsors logos are in yellow on the front, as is a bespoke interpretation of City’s club crest.
The colour scheme continues on the shorts, with logs in yellow, accompanied by a red stripe down each leg.
The socks create a stunning contrast to the rest of the kit. Yellow, with black motifs on the shin, they are a brilliant finish to an excellent kit. After the horror show of their home kit, this design will come as a welcome relief for City fans.
