Malta came to Wembley to play England in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday and brought their new kit with them. As well as some obdurate defending.
The Maltese Football Association can be proud of the kits and players for their performance on the hallowed turf. England were restricted to just two goals in Gareth Southgate’s first game in charge.
Malta 2016/17 Home Kit
This is the Malta 2016/17 home kit:
Manufactured by Givova, the outfield players will wear red shirts whilst the goalkeepers have a green kit.
Both shirts feature tonal diagonal stripes running from left to right from the shoulders. The Maltese FA Crest and Givova logo are both in white on the shoulders.
The trim for both is white. Outfield players have a red collar with white trim on the lapel. The goalkeepers will have a plain white collar. The shirts feature white cuffs although the goalkeepers have green bands on theirs whilst the outfield players are plain white.
For the outfield players, the kit is completed with white shorts and red socks.
Malta 2016/17 Away Kit
This is the Malta 2016/17 away kit:
The outfield players wear white shirts and red shorts, finished with white socks. The trim on the shirt is red, inverting the colour way of the home kit. The goalkeepers wear a similar kit to the home design but have red trim instead of white.
Straightforward designs, which even with the tonal stripes can make the nation proud.
