Set to be released next month, pictures of the 2016/17 Real Madrid away kit have leaked onto the internet. The winners of the 2016 Champions League have opted for a purple design for this time around, the first of that colour in a decade. It’s been used in third kits since but the last purple away kit was 2005/06.
Real Madrid 2016/17 Away Kit
This is believed to be the 2016/17 away kit to be worn by Real Madrid.
It’s a refreshing and striking shirt colour to choose. Sensibly, Adidas and Real have opted to keep the shirt plain to add a timeless quality to the design.
Reminiscent of Adidas shirts in the mid-70s, the shirt has a crew neck which leads seamlessly into the trademark Adidas Three Stripes across the shoulder. Both trim and collar are white. The plain purple sleeves are finished with white cuffs.
All sponsor, manufacturer and club logos are printed in white lettering and images. Adidas’ mark is on the right breast above Emirates Airlines logo whilst the Real Madrid club crest is opposite on the left.
The shorts and socks are both purple, with white trim. It’s a simple but effective kit, modern and enduring at the same time.
What do you think of the purple kit? Keeping it Real or Real-ly bad? Let us know in the comments.
