Borussia Dortmund, facing their usual summer exodus from star players, have seen images of their new away kit for 2016/17 leaked onto the web.
As Henrikh Mkhitaryan negotiates his move to Manchester United and Neven Subotic uses Facebook to ask for a transfer, manager Thomas Tuchel must feel pummeled from all sides. Or should that be Hummel-ed with the centre back moving to Dortmund’s great rivals, Bayern Munich?
Borussia Dortmund 2016/17 Away Kit
These are the leaked images of Borussia Dortmund’s 2016/17 away shirt
It’s a striking design from Puma. Using two tones of black with yellow, they have created an eye-catching colour scheme for next season.
Whilst the back is plain black with “BVB” under the neckline and “Dortmund” at the bottom in yellow, the front contains alternate shaded horizontal bars. The top bar across the upper chest and front of the shoulders is the lighter black, accentuating the thick yellow band at the bottom of the collar.
Housing the Puma mark and Dortmund club crest in yellow, there is a thin yellow horizontal stripe above and a thick one below, the panel with the logo of primary sponsor, Evonik. Dark black and the lighter hue alternate down the rest of the front of the shirt. The same pattern applies to the intermittent thick and thin horizontal yellow stripes.
The shirt sleeves are deep black with only yellow piping creating a shoulder panel to house the Puma logo. The collar, a v-neck utilises the same deep black colour.
It’s an interesting design, presumably coming with black shorts and socks, both featuring yellow trim. We’ll find out over the coming weeks!
