Excitement is building amongst Manchester United fans as leaked images of the clubs highly anticipated collaboration with the Stone Roses have surfaced online. Earlier this season, news broke of this special collaboration, and now thanks to @TuftyMUFC and @TheShirtUnion, fans get a sneak peek at the stunning pre-match gear collection that’s set to be officially announced within the next month.
The collection pays homage to the band and features a pre-match shirt, sweat-top, a reversible anthem jacket, and a retro jacket, all completed with elements that blend the iconic symbols of Manchester United and the Stone Roses.
The Stone Roses, a legendary British band from the 1980s and 1990s, were integral to the renowned “Madchester” music scene and were known for their passionate support of Manchester United. The upcoming jersey design draws inspiration from the Stone Roses logo and the abstract album art of their 1989 self-titled masterpiece.
The album’s distinctive artwork was designed by the band’s guitarist John Squire and earned its place among the “100 Best Record Covers of All Time,” according to Q magazine. This collaboration promises to be a celebration of both football and music history, intertwining the legacies of Manchester United and the Stone Roses.
The Red Devils and the Stone Roses share a deep-rooted connection, with the Stone Roses’ anthem “This Is The One” serving as the iconic walk-out song for the club.
