Gibraltar prepared for their first World Cup qualifying campaign by issuing new kits for the national team. Manufacturer Admiral, provider of the England and Welsh kits – amongst others – in the 1970s has used the same template for the Gibraltar kit range.
The away kit made its debut during last week’s prestigious friendly against newly crowned European champions, Portugal. Their Iberian neighbours showed no mercy in defeating the Gibraltarians 5 – 0 in Porto.
GIBRALTAR 2016-2017 KITS
These are the Gibraltar 2016-2017 kits:
The kits use the same design template.
For home games, the all-red kit in the centre of the photo above, will be used. Gone are the shoulder stripes containing the Admiral logo, replaced by a white splash on the left shoulder, opposite to two white stripes on the right.
The shorts feature white stripes down either leg whilst the red socks have white trim.
Away from home, Gibraltar will wear either white or black.
The white kit made its debut in Porto last week.
The home colour scheme is reversed in a simple kit design. Depending on the colour clash, the option exists for the Gibraltar team to wear a black kit, based on the same template. This time, the contrasting colour is white and in a slight twist, the socks are the same colour as well.
