Nike are hellbent on making us like their current template! France are the latest nation to release a new third kit, and as with England, get it right by using dark colours.
A 3 – 1 win over Luxembourg kept their 2018 World Cup qualification hopes on track. At the halfway point in Group A, France lead the way with thirteen points, three ahead of second place Sweden.
France 2017/18 Nike Third Kit
This is the new French Nike 2017/18 third kit:
Using the Nike Vapor template, the kit is a stylish all-black number and forms part of the ‘All Black’ range. An imaginative title from the US sportswear giants to use for this collection. Better than Les Bleus Noir, I suppose. Or French Noir.
The range, inspired by ‘streetwear’ is primarily aimed at, well, the streets.
Contrasting with the dark background, the Nike Swoosh is metallic silver while the FFF crest adds a blue colour palette to enhance the design. Above the cockerel, sits a woven silver star representing the 1998 World Cup win.
Embossed on the back of the collar is “FRANCE”, just in case anyone was in any doubt about who was wearing the shirt. While the home kit has embroidered motifs on the sleeve cuffs, this shirt is plain, enhancing the stylish look.
While FIFA has resisted the temptation to allow sponsorship on international shirts, classics like this are designed to be fondly remembered.
