Dundee Unveil 2016/17 Home Kits

Scottish Premiership outfit, Dundee, have released their 2016/17 kit range. The ambitious Tayside club are looking to create history by moving one of next season’s home games against Celtic to Philidelphia. A ground-breaking move, it still faces the obstacle of being ratified by football’s governing bodies.

Questions have been asked in the local media about the idea and the idea may yet go the way of the English Premier League’s 39th game.

Barring 1971-72 and two half seasons, Dundee have worn a dark blue home shirt since 1902/03. Next season will be no different with kit manufacturer, Puma, making minor changes in the seventh year of making the Dens Park kits.

The dark blue body of the shirt meets a similarly coloured collar, which drops into a curved v-shape. The sleeves house white stripes on the top which run across the shoulders to the red panelled cuff. Under the arm, runs a white panel housing a meshlike material to improve airflow around the body.

Gradiented blue stripes offer a shimmering effect to the top with Puma’s marks, sponsor logo and club badge all featured in white.

The shorts are plain white with a dark blue stripe down each leg. The dark blue socks have a solid red turnover.

Puma has reversed the colour scheme of the home kit for Dundee to use on their travels.

The body of the white shirt contains dark blue vertical pinstripes. The sleeves are all-white with a thick dark blue stripe on the outer, leading from the white cuff across the shoulders. It meets the dark blue neckline of the curved v-shape collar which has white lapels.

The shorts for the away kit will be dark blue with a white stripe whilst the socks are white.

It’s a simple retro look with a timeless quality for the Taysiders.
