Columbus Crew Reveal 2017 Home Kit
Columbus Crew welcome Chicago Fire to the MAPFRE Stadium this weekend, giving an official debut to their new home kit. A trip to Brazil in pre-season helped raise the players fitness, even if the results weren’t as hoped. The 0 – 7 defeat to Sao Paulo was a tough opening game but served its purpose. The Black and The Gold were undefeated in winning the Carolina Challenge Cup, beating Seattle Sounders in the decisive match.

The basic yellow and black shirt is, on the whole, unremarkable until you get into the detail. Then an unremarkable shirt becomes unique.
Adidas incorporated a checkerboard pattern down each side of the body, using a striking characteristic from the club’s crest as inspiration.
The black v-neck collar meets with Three Stripes across the shoulder in the same hue. Inside the neckline is printed the slogan, “Glory to Columbus”. Meanwhile, on the back of the shirt is the Ohio flag, albeit in yellow and black.
On the left hem, a tag denoting “Charter Member #01”, is a reminder that Columbus Crew was a founder franchise when the MLS was formed in 1994.
A simple design, the shirt has unique features which make it an outstanding to the MLS kit roster this season.
