Chivas De Guadalajara Play In Their Birthday Suit

Chivas de Guadalajara celebrate their 110th anniversary this year. On Sunday, they played Arsenal in a friendly and wore a specially commissioned kit for the occasion.

It didn’t go to plan with Arsenal winning comfortably, 3 – 1 at the final whistle. Goals from Rob Holding, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Chuba Akpom gave the Premier League side an unassailable lead. Not to be complete party poopers, they let Angel Zaldivar score from the spot with fifteen minutes to go.

The Gunners wore their own third kit released on Friday in front of an adoring US crowd.

This is the kit Chivas De Guadalajara had designed for the friendly against Arsenal:

A traditional red and white striped shirt, there was a lace addition to the neckline.

The collar and cuffs comprise thin red and blue bands on a white background.

Completing the kit were blue shorts and white socks.

Arsenal themselves debuted their new third kit.

The design had been well-received upon it’s release. The navy with its’ striking yellow contrast looked even better in the flesh than at Friday’s L.A. launch.

Two stylish kits and a good football match; life doesn’t get much more perfect!
