China 2016 Kits Revealed

China has revealed their 2016 home and away kits. Debuted in part during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the home kit is a striking combination of red and yellow.

The Chinese men didn’t compete but the women’s team reached the quarter-finals. There, they lost by a single goal to eventual gold medallists – or perhaps that should be goalled medallists?– Germany. The only difference is that this kit includes the crest of the Chinese FA rather than the Wǔ Xīng Hóng Qí.

It’s the third kit produced by Nike for the People’s Republic and is bespoke version of the favoured template from the US sports manufacturer.

Gone are the tonal coloured sleeves, replaced by a dragon-scale pattern in yellow. On each side of the shirt is a thin yellow patterned stripe.

The collar at the front is patterned whilst the rear is a dual red and yellow bands. The Chinese language symbol for China appears on the ribbed red upper band.

The shorts for the kit are red whilst the socks are yellow, creating a striking colour combination.

The away kit is the inverse of the home strip. The base yellow shirt features a red dragon-scale pattern with red stripes down the side of the body.

The kit is completed by yellow shorts and red socks.
