Charlton 2016/17 Kits Unveiled

Charlton Athletic have unveiled their 2016/17 home and third kits. Times are tough for the Addicks with a seemingly inevitable relegation from the Championship coming last season.

Nonetheless, there is optimism that the club may bounce straight back to the second tier with confidence in their highly-rated forward line of Nicky Ajose, the former Swindon Town striker, and Lee Novak, signed from Blackburn.

New boss Russell Slade is familiar with lower leagues and won’t allow complacency to seep into the Charlton dressing room.

Among all this change, they have found time to release new home and third kits with the away shirt to follow shortly.

The shirts are red with white accents. The clean design is devoid of pattern on the front beyond the manufacturers mark, logo of the primary sponsor Betdaq, and the club crest.

A white curved V-neck collar is linked to the cuffs by a solid shoulder panel which runs from the left cuff to right uninterrupted.

The shorts are white whilst the socks red.

The match at the old Brisbane Road, now the Matchroom Stadium, finished goalless as did the subsequent friendly against Ipswich Town at the Valley. With Dutch side RJC Waalwijik visiting south east London this afternoon, the denizens of SE7 will be hoping for a goal or two along the way.

The shirt is similar to the template selected by Coventry City among others. The stripes which emerge from the solid black chest and shoulders are blue and black across the front of the shirt. A solid black back finishes the shirt.
