Qualified for this season’s Europa League, Celta find out later today who they have drawn in the group stage. Finishing sixth in La Liga meant they missed out on the qualifying rounds, thanks to Barcelona’s Copa Del Rey win.

It’s the first time in ten years that Celta have made it into European competition. In 2006/07, they progressed through the UEFA Cup group stage, finishing second behind Newcastle United. How things have changed.

They will hoping for an equally successful run. In 2006/07 they reached the last sixteen, succumbing 0 – 3 on aggregate to Werder Bremen.

This is the third kit set to be worn by Celta Vigo in La Liga and European competition this season.

Grey football kits rarely look good but combining in black and light blue brings a fresh look to the Celta kit.
