Brazil; football, sunshine, samba and just about recovered from the 1 – 7 thrashing by Germany in the semi-final at the last World Cup.
Qualification for the next one is going well. The Seleccao top the South American group, romping toward Russia 2018 with an almost unassailable seven-point advantage over second place Uruguay. The two nations met in Montevideo last week and Brazil turned on the style in a 4 – 1 win.
With their traditional yellow for the home kit, the equally traditional blue for the away, Brazil’s decision for a third kit could have gone either way: light or dark! The CBF decided to repeat the colour palette of a few years ago: dark green.
Brazil 2017/18 Third Kit
This is the third kit which Brazil will wear for the next twelve months:
If there is a criticism of the design, it’s the familiarity of the template. We’ve seen pretty much every colour combination used before by Nike. Now we have dark green with a darker green contrast on the sleeves.
Using gold as the contrast is a nice touch. The CBF crest and Nike Swoosh both stand out really well and add a classy touch to the otherwise plain shirt.
Woven stars above the crest signal the country’s success on the international stage while “BRASIL” is embossed on the collar.
A straightforward design; functional and unfussy. Not as iconic as the home shirt but nothing to complain about either.
