Bournemouth Unveil 2016/17 Away Kit
Their Premier League status preserved, AFC Bournemouth are already looking forward to the new 2016/17 season. The Cherries surprised most observing by staying up and finished comfortably ahead of the bottom three. Manager Eddie Howe is looking to improve on that and establish the club in the safety of mid-table.
Bournemouth 2016/17 Away Kit
This is the AFC Bournemouth away kit for the 2016/17 season.
Whilst the Cherries home kit is their now-familiar red and black stripes, away from Dean Court, they will wear all-blue. It’s the second design from manufacturer, JD Sports.
The primary colour is blue with tonal horizontal stripes across the body. The shoulder panels are a darker shade of solid blue and lead into the same pattern on the sleeves. The cuffs are thick white bands.
Around the bottom of the shirt is a thick white hemline. The collar, with its button neckline, is blue.
Bournemouth have opted for plain blue shorts which have a white band around the bottom of each leg.
The socks mimic the pattern of the shirt with tonal blue hoops, alternating between the same light and dark shades. The turnover is a thick white band.
It’s an interesting design for Bournemouth to wear as they battle their way through Premier League grounds. JD Sports has opted to ignore the recent trend for plain shirts. Instead, it’s an imaginative take on some of the larger manufacturers international alternative shirts. Whether the trend will catch on remains to be seen.
