Borussia Dortmund European Kit Released
Borussia Dortmund, runners-up in last season’s Bundesliga, have released their 2016-17 kit to be worn in European competition.
At the moment, the marketing tells us this will be worn in the Champions League but after today’s draw in Monaco, there’s a strong chance that it will only be worn in that competition.
The draw for the competition’s group stage was very favourable indeed with Dortmund drawn in the same group as Real Madrid, Sporting Lisbon and Legia Warsaw.
If by some catastrophe they fail to make it to the knockout stages, the Germans will wear this kit in the Europa League. No, we can’t see it either…
Borussia Dortmund 2016/17 Champions League Kit
The shorts and socks will be the ones used by Dortmund in the Bundesliga but this is the shirt Borussia will wear in the Champions League:
The shirt is a clean yellow design with black accents and trim, as you would expect from a Borussia Dortmund kit. The pinched V-neck collar and cuffs are half black and yellow, with the shoulders featuring black stripes leading from the neck to the front and sleeves, creating a yellow shoulder band. Inside the black panels is a tonal carbon pattern.
On the reverse of the shirt, above the black hem, ‘Dortmund’ is printed in Puma’s new season font. In the centre of the upper back, below the neckline is a printed ‘BVB’.
It’s a contrast to the black stripes of the Bundesliga shirt and a modern look for their Champions League campaign.
