Bolivian President, Eva Morales Joins Louis Tomlinson on Professional Football Contract

“It’s a funny old game” is perhaps more relevant a saying than ever as the President of Bolivia, Eva Morales has signed a professional football contract with Sports Boys, a team based in the province of Santa Cruz.

As if the President finding time to moonlight as a professional footballer wasn’t surprising enough, his age, 54, must make him one of the oldest professionals of all time –a year older than the likes of Diego Maradonna, who last played 16 years ago and 11 years older than the Premier League’s oldest player, goal keeper Brad Friedel, 43.

It is alleged that the President will be available for 20 minutes a game, and if fully utilised is set to get more game-time than Manchester United’s Wilfried Zaha, although his pay-packet is far more modest at about £127 a game.

Morales is not the only person in the public eye to shift career paths, with One Directions Louis Tomlinson sighing for English Championship side Doncaster Rovers and World’s fastest man Usain Bolt training with Manchester United and making his ambitions to sign for the former champions clear, once his athletics career is over.

The team at UK Soccer Shop is looking forward to seeing how things pan out for the ageing Morales, with a late challenge perhaps leaving him or his opponent in a rather precarious situation. We do think that he will have to go a long way to top British politician Boris Johnson’s tackle, below.
