Earlier this week we showed you Borussia Dortmund’s latest home kit, which oozes quality and shouts bold detail. We thought you might want to see the release of Bayern Munich’s home kit, a team which have also dominated the Bundesliga since it began.
When you watch Bayern Munich on the television or from the noisy stands in the Allianz arena, you see the bright red kit with their stylish details and you likely just see the blogs of red. The intricate design elements become lost. With the arrival of their 2018/19 home kit, the team with 28 titles to their name have entrusted the design task to Adidas, a world leader on the kit design front and a company who have done another fantastic job.
The main colour of the body is a rich, blood red, which underneath has a number of overlaid incomplete (the bottom line is missing) triangles, also cut vertically by the tiny, almost unnoticeable stripes that almost give an optical illusion effect.
The neckline is simply red, no buttons, no frills like Crystal Palace’s home kit and it doesn’t need to be complicated because the style is carried in the body and sleeves.
The back of the kit top doesn’t have the stripes and inter-connecting triangles, instead it appears clean, simple, and from a design point of view – quite finished.
The sleeves are tapered at the bottom with a navy blue that matches the shorts and the two stripes seen running vertically on the shorts are also seen on the shoulders of the jersey.
Bayern Munich will be hoping for the top spot next season. Their current manager: Jupp Heynckes will have his eyes firmly fixed on the title, but will this kit be a big hit with the fans or will it be a little too simple for their tastes? Playing at the top of German football brings a huge amount of pressure, have Adidas risen to the task?
