Bayern Munich Debut 2017-18 Kit

Bayern Munich, Bundesliga champions for the sixth consecutive season, debuted their 2017/18 home kit in the weekend’s 4 – 1 win over SC Freiburg.

An emotional afternoon saw the club bid farewell to two of football’s most decorated players: Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso.

Between them, the pair has won just about every major prize in the modern game. Both were World Cup winners with respective countries while Alonso was also a double European champion with Spain.

Lahm, a one-club man – although he played for Stuttgart on loan – was a member of 8 Bayern title-winning sides, with 6 DFB-Pokal and 1 DFB-ligapokal medals. Alonso won the title in Spain and Germany, as well as the domestic cups and FA Cup with Liverpool.

Three Champions League winners medals – ironically, Alonso never won one with Bayern – as well European Super Cup and a World Club Cup winners medal for Lahm.

So on Saturday, the full house at the Allianz gathered to pay their respects to the pair, including more than 20 Bayern Legends.

Widely leaked beforehand, the red shirt pays homage to the mid-70s kits worn when FC Hollywood ruled Europe. Evenly spaced white stripes travel the front of the body while the back is plain red, allowing for player identification.

The red shorts come with a thick white band at the bottom of each leg while the socks are red.

Adidas features its’ Three Stripes in white across the shoulders and down the side of the shorts.
