Barnsley have released their 2016/17 home kit ahead of next weekend’s League One play-off final against Millwall. Having finished sixth in the final table, they easily disposed of favourites Walsall, winning 6 – 1 on aggregate.
Barnsley 2016/17 Home Kit
The Tykes will wear their traditional red and white colours in next season’s home kit.
The home shirt is completely red without the white trim that has been favoured in the past decade. Sponsor, CK Beckett, see their logo emblazoned on the shirt once more, having begun their relationship with the club in 2011. Puma, in the second year of their kit deal, have their logo on the right breast and left shoulder opposite the club’s crest on the left breast.
The kit will be finished off with plain white shorts, and red/white hooped socks.
It’s a homage to the strip worn in 1996/97, when they won promotion to the Premier League. The club will be hoping that some of that luck will rub off when they face Millwall. Win that match and the prospect 0f returning to the top flight comes a little closer.
