Atlanta United, one of current crop of MLS expansion franchises, recently unveiled its’ 2017 kit. As with the other clubs in the league, Adidas is the kit manufacturer under the umbrella MLS deal.
Razzmatazz is never in short supply in the USA and Atlanta didn’t let the side down. Ticker tape and a fanfare welcomed the new kit!
Atlanta United 2017 Primary Kit
This is primary (home) kit Atlanta United will wear in the debut MLS season.
It’s a straightforward red and black striped design on the front, seamlessly meeting a plain red back.
With the gold accents, the design incorporates the three club colours.
The front of the shirt features three thick black stripes, with the central stripe emerging from the simple v-neck collar. The short-sleeved shirt features black cuffs with the long-sleeve shirt carrying red cuffs.
Adidas’ Three Stripes sit across the shoulders in gold with the similarly coloured manufacturer logo on the chest. The club badge (with red and black background) with sponsors logo features in gold, sit opposite. On the black shorts, the Three Stripes run down the side of each leg, again in gold, although the socks are plain black with just the logos in gold.
A specially-designed motif marks the “2017 Inaugural Season”, sited centrally under the back collar. Meanwhile, on the right cuff features the club’s name in gold.
Ann Rodriguez, the Atlanta United Vice President of Business Operations, stated:
“Our goal was to have a kit that was differentiated from the league and a unique look that Atlanta can own.”
Afterwards. she continued,
“The final product really captures our core identity, and it is a high-quality, performance kit that will enable our players to perform.”
