Adidas have unveiled their Mercury Pack football boots to be used for the first time at Euro2016 and Copa América Centenario.
Adidas Mercury Pack Football Boots
There are three boots in the stunning Chrome Mercury Pack range: Ace 16+ PURECONTROL, X16+ PURECHAOS and Messi 16+ PUREAGILITY.
Adidas Ace 16+ PURECONTROL
Favoured by Paul Pogba and Mesut Özil, the Ace 16+ PURECONTROL Mercury Pack comes with a vivid yellow trim to contrast with the boot’s chrome upper. With the iconic three stripes forming a striking black contrast, the Solar Yellow collar extends over the tongue of the boot to give a bright, summery feel.
The soleplate with its’ metallic sheen is offset by the yellow studs and cleats, strategically placed to give the wearer firm grip on the surface.
Adidas X16+ PURECHAOS
The new X16+ PURECHAOS range was designed with speed in mind. Set to be debuted in the Champions League final by Gareth Bale, the X16+ will also be worn by Luis Suarez in the Copa América Centenario.
The hallmark chrome colourway covers the upper of the boot, including the laceless tongue area. At the top sits a stunning red collar, offering a stylish finish to the boot. Adidas’ three stripes sit proudly in solid black on the boot’s inner.
The soleplate features a hammer-hit chrome effect. It houses dynamically sited red stud and cleat arrays to give as little friction between the boot and playing surface.
Adidas Messi 16+
The final boot in the Mercury Pack is the Adidas Messi 16+.
The chrome upper comes with a mesh effect. The blue colourway on the collar matches the Argentina national shirts. Adidas have designed a supple effect into the manufacturing process and claim that the boot needs no breaking-in time at all. For players such as Lionel Messi who rely on agility and close control, this is a massive benefit.
