Adidas Messi 16.1 Space Dust Takes Off

The marketing for Messi week never stops. Even when he is injured, the Argentinian remains a centre of attention in the footballing world. Argentine coach Edgardo Bauza claimed the player knows “everything about everything in football”.

His absence was cruelly felt by Argentina as they dropped five points in the last two World Cup qualifying matches.

Adidas Messi 16.1 Space Dust Pack

This is the new Space Dust pack for Adidas’ Messi 16.1 boot:

It’s the third colourway and the most striking yet. Launched on Tuesday of this week, the dark grey and solar green combination is the third of the Space Dust Pack to be released. The 89 copies of the 10:10 boot sold out quickly leaving just the Messi 16.1 and Messi 16+ PureAgility on general sale.

The upper is predominantly dark grey with a night sky effect created by the speckled green pattern. Just above the soleplate, the two colours fade into each other before the solar green emerges.

Adidas Three Stripes feature in metallic silver on the sides whilst the Messi logo is an embossed feature on the side in black. On the heel, the Adidas logo is in solar green.

The Messi 16.1 soleplate is green and uses the SprintFrame technology. The studs are an opaque green, synthetic around the side with metal studs at the rear.

The low-cut ankle design gives these boots a distinctive look, with the AgilityKnit upper using the same technology as the Messi 16+ PureAgility boot.

It’s a strong alternative for those who prefer the traditional style boot rather than the fitted collars elsewhere.
