AS Roma, runners-up in the 2017-18 Serie A campaign, begin a new era in the club’s history. Francesco Totti, one of Italy’s finest players, retired after the final match of last season, leaving the Giallorossi to plough on without their talismanic captain.
Genoa wore a special kit that day, honouring Totti’s career and underlining the special place he holds in Italian football.
The match was a fitting tribute to Totti. A one-club man, he was part of the squad which trailed 0 – 2 only to come back with a last-minute winner grabbed by Diego Perotti. 3 – 2 and everyone was happy.
AS Roma 2017-18 Home Kit
This is the 2017-18 AS Roma home kit:
Typically for Roma, it’s a classy unspoiled look. With no sponsor, it is a clean design with the club’s imperial purple unsullied by graphic prints or patterning.
The trim, as ever, is yellow in the form of a neckband and Nike’s Swoosh. Based on the city of Rome’s coat of arms, the club crest in yellow and red, features on the chest.
While others add splashes, Roma’s only concession is the black panel down the side of the shirts
The shorts, complete with logo and crest, are also imperial purple, as are the socks.
