Any mention of the glory days brings a tear to the eye of supporters and Liverpool have more than most to recall. Celebrating the club’s 125th anniversary next season, the Reds are going back to the future with their recently launched new home kit.
While the Premier League title is beyond them, Liverpool are homing in on a Champions League place. The design for next season’s kit is reminiscent of the heady days when the Reds were habitual Champions Cup winners.
Liverpool 2017-18 Home Kit
This is the Liverpool 2017-18 home kit:
The shirt uses a deeper red than recent seasons, acknowledging the club’s past in the process. New Balance has kept piping and tonal graphics to a minimum, honouring the celebratory nature of the kit.
White trim accompanies the straightforward red shirt, with the neck and cuffs both featuring a thin red band.
On the side panels, an angular white line appears under each arm. As with this season, the club crest is in yellow, incorporating the anniversary dates.
On the reverse of the shirt, the Hillsborough motif appears in yellow on the neckline while ‘125’ is embossed in lighter red.
The shorts and socks both follow the same colour scheme. There are similarities to the 1995/96 kit with the white turnover on the socks a reminder of the Adidas design.
