Cadiz are the latest club to join in promoting International Women’s Day with a celebratory kit. Worn today for the home match against Rayo Vallecano, which they won 1 – 0.
The Andalusian club sits third in the Segunda Division, nine points behind Girona and seventeen in Levante’s wake.
Rayo Vallecano, from the capital city Madrid, has a long history of supporting worthwhile causes. They are probably the Spanish equivalent of St. Pauli in Hamburg.
Cadiz CF 2017 International Women’s Day Kit
This is the 2017 Cadiz CF International Women’s Day shirt worn today:
The shirt is based on this season’s home kit template. A yellow base colour is unaltered but the blue which normally accompanies it for the trim, changed to pink.
The Adidas Three Stripes, logo and hemline all changed colour for the day, while the club’s primary sponsor agreed to change their motif on the chest. The club crest also changed to a monochromatic pink design.
On the match shirts, the club a pink Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon between Adidas’ logo and the club crest.
The trim on the shorts and socks also turned pink in honour of the United Nations led celebrations.
Cadiz will auction the kits on Ebay to raise funds for the cancer charity.
